The Twitter app’s new official update has been rolled out for download for the users of Android smartphones and tablets. This new version is dubbed as version 4.1.6.
The new version includes many new features, bug fixes and some enhancements. It comes with an option to follow the conversations on Twitter directt from the screen of their devices.
The iteration comes with a feature allowing its users to be able to see the conversations between the social users they follow in an all new way. The conversations will be marked with a blue line on the user’s home timeline.
Also, Now on opening the app, the first tweet of the conversation will appear above the most recent reply. If there are any long conversations, the twitter application will now display only up to three tweets on the home timelines. But there will be the possibility to tap and see all the replies, even from the people on twitter whom you don’t follow.
This new update also comes with many other improvements. Several security enhancements have been included along with new notification settings, login verification, a completely new look for conversations and much more. Also, some bug fixes for direct messages have also been included.
It also includes a feature to share the conversations over email. It doesn’t matter weather your friends are on Twitter or not. You can share it via message (DM) as well.
The users now have an option to report the individual different Tweets for abuse or spam directly from the Android Twitter application and Twitter.com. Although the company has already announced this feature in their blog, but this feature will be rolled out gradually.
This new version has been optimized for entry-level Android smartphones with limited storage devices like the Samsung Galaxy Y, HTC Explorer, Micromax Bolt and some others. For these devices, the app is less than half in size as compared to the previous size. Thus making it faster and easier to download and install the app in these devices.
