SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log - Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
Enable the USB Debugging Mode in your computer from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. Make sure that your SONY Xperia Z Tablet is left with the minimum of 50% battery or else the device might just get turned Off in the middle of firmware update.
Also, make sure that the MTP Mode is Disabled which can be done from the path “Settings > Xperia > Connectivity > USB Connection Mode” to select the MSC Mode and not the MTP Mode.

Please note that this can only be applied on the devices which are rooted. To check on whether your tablet is rooted or not, you will have to download the app called “Root Checker”.
So assuming that you are done with all the above mentioned steps, you can now proceed on to the next page where we have mentioned the detailed procedure on how to apply with this update.
