Slimbean team has launched their new firmware a week ago. This is an Android jellybean 4.2.2 based ROM which is named slimbean build 8 final stable ROM. And the best thing is Galaxy Nexus S 4G D720 users can download and install this ROM on their device. This is not an official firmware that is launched for Galaxy Nexus S 4G D720 but an aftermarket custom ROM which is launched by the slimbean team. These custom ROMs are popular because they operate lightweight smooth and fast. The slimbean build 8 is a final and stable version based on the Android 4.2.2 jellybean. Now they have started working on the latest version of Android 4.3 based ROM, and launched a beta version Android 4.3 Beta 1 weeklies for various supported devices. And it has currently rolled out for various supported devices. Lots of changes and bug fixes have made on slimbean build 8 as reported in the weekly builds by various users. Instruction to Install the Android 4.2.2 jelly bean Based Slim Bean 8 ROM on Galaxy Nexus S 4G D720.

Step 1:
First download the Slimbean Build 8 ROM for Galaxy Nexus S 4G D720 [Slim Bean 4.2.2 Build 8 ROM] and Google Apps [Slim Bean Gapps]
Step 2:
Connect your Galaxy Nexus S 4G D720 using the USB cable and the mount your storage.
Step 3:
Copy the downloaded files into the SD card without extracting the files.
Step4:
Disconnect phone after the copying process is finished AND TURNOFF YOUR PHONE.
Step5:
Boot your phone in recovery mode to do so press and hold Volume Up, Volume Down and the Power button, continue to hold all three until the screen flashes, then release all buttons [in recovery use volume buttons to scroll and Power button to select]. You can also try this: Recovery Mode without Key Combination.
Step6:
It is important to backup your existing ROM, it will be handy if the new ROM is not working or if you want to go back to your previous ROM. To do the process, select Backup and Restore, then on the next screen, select Backup again. Go back to main recovery menu after backup process done.
Step7:
To avoid clashing between the new ROM and previous ROM you will need to perform some wiping task. To wipe, select wipe data/factory reset, then select yes on next screen to confirm your action. Wait few minutes till the data wiping process done. Now go back to CWM recovery main menu. Select wipe cache partition and after wiping cache partition process completed, select Wipe Dalvik Cache under advance option to perform Dalvik cache wiping. After the process is done it is safe to proceed to the next step.
Step8:
For installing the Slimbean, Select install zip from SD card, and then select choose zip from SD card. Now, locate the Slim Bean 4.2.2 Build 8 ROM zip file that you copied earlier in Step 3 and select it by pressing Power button. On the next screen confirm the installation. And the installation process will start.
Step9:
After the installation process, install the Slim Bean Gapps zip by repeating the process you have done in the step 8 the only difference is selecting the Slim Bean Gapps zip instead of ROM zip.
Step10:
After all the process is done. Go back to the main recovery menu and select reboot system now to reboot the phone. The smartphone will get booted into the new ROM, the first boot usually take about 5 minutes. (Max 15 min or it will get stuck on the boot screen.)
