Having a base firmware XXBME3, a new software update was made available to the Galaxy S3’s international LTE version with GT-I9305 as the model number. The Jelly Bean Android 4.1.2 based update is available in many countries in Europe like France, Luxembourg and Poland.

The procedure for downloading the Android 4.1.2 XXBME3 by means of the utility Samsung Kies along with via the update feature ‘OTA’ is as follows: Go to Settings, proceed to About phone and select Software update.


How to manually root Samsung Galaxy S3 I9305 on XXBME3 Jelly Bean Android 4.1.2

Step-1:

First of all the CF-Auto-Root file should be downloaded to the computer for Samsung Galaxy S3.

The name of the file is: CF-Auto-Root-m3-m3zh-gti9305.zip

Step-2:

The downloaded root zip file is to be extracted to obtain a .tar.md5 file inside it.

Step-3:

The Odin3 v3.07 is to be downloaded. The Odin zip is to be extracted and Odin3 v3.07.exe is to be obtained.

Step-4:

The Galaxy S3 is to be switched off and then to ensure complete switch off, wait for the vibration for approximately five to six seconds. Then press and hold the Volume down and Power button at the same time till the time a construction Android robot is visible on the screen to boot the device into Download Mode. To continue enter into the Download mode, the Volume Up button is to be pressed.

Step-5:

As an administrator, the Odin3 v3.07.exe is to be run [The procedure for the same is by clicking on the Odin.exe and then as Administrator, go to the context menu and Run is to be clicked.]

Step-6:

Use a USB cable to connect the Galaxy S3 to the computer during the time it is in the Download Mode. Until the device is detected by the Odin, wait for some time. On the successful connection of the phone, under the message box of the Odin will show an Added message. In addition to this, the Odin’s ID: COM box will change into blue color with the indication of successful connection by the COM port number.

Note:

Another USB port is to be tried if the Added message is not visible. The one at the rear of the computer is to be tried. The USB driver is to be installed again if the device is still not recognized by the Odin.

Step-7:

Select the PDA button in Odin and choose the file named CF-Auto-Root-m3-m3zh-gti9305.tar.md5.

Step-8:

The Auto Reboot is to be verified and the F.Reset Time checkboxes to be selected in the Odin window. The option of Re-Partition is to be unchecked.

Step-9:

In the Odin, the start button is to be clicked. Now, the installation will start and a few minutes’ time will complete it.

Step-10:

The phone will automatically be rebooted after the completion of the installation process and then in the extreme left box at the top of the Odin box, with a green background, a PASS message will be visible. To disconnect the phone from the computer, the USB cable is to be unplugged.

This will complete the successful rooting of theGalaxy S3 LTE on XXBME3 Jelly Bean Android 4.1.2. Any app requiring root permission can now be installed. From the Google play store, the Root checker app is to be installed in order to verify the root status.
