Samsung released its smartphone Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830 back in the 2011, comes with android 2.2 Froyo. Now a new official firmware is released which is BUKT3 Android 4.2.2 Gingerbread Official Firmware. The Samsung didn’t manage to release much updates for this device time to time and this is the latest release for this device yet and theres is no news of the jellybean update for this device. This firmware has been rolled out in several countries by Samsung. We have given the links and list of the countries in this tutorial. You can update your phone using OTA feature or using kites software. We have given the steps here for manually updating the device with the new BUKT3 Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread Official Firmware. This update doesn’t require the device to be rooted already or a CWM recovery because we will use ODIN utility. After the updating process you can root the device by following the rooting method.


Complete Installation Tutorial of BUKT3 Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread Official Firmware

Step 1:

Download the ODIN 3.07 & BUKT3 Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread Official Firmware using the link given above.

Step 2:

After the download, extract the zip file to the desktop, you will get a .tar.md5 file and some other files (optional) after extraction.

Step 3:

also extract the Odin zip file in to a convenient location in your desktop. After the extraction you will get a file named Odin v3.07.exe and other files.

Step 4:

After the download put your phone in Download mode, switching off your phone first and wait for 5-6 seconds for the complete turnoff. After the shutdown enter the download mode by holding Volume Down + Home + Power button together until you see a construction Android robot in phone screen. Press Volume Up button again to enter into Download Mode.

Step 5:

Open the ODIN program as an administrator, administrator privileges is important for the update process.

Step 6:

Using the USB cable connect your device into the computer. After the connection you will see a message in the ODIN message box saying “added!” if not connected properly reconnect it in another USB port (prefer the ports in the back side of the desktop). If this doesn’t correct the problem reinstall the USB driver in your pc.

After successful connection of the device. You can also note a COM port with a number in yellow if you have connected the device successfully.

Step 7:

Select the update files you have already extracted in the ODIN app at respective options.

Select the PDA button, and select the .tar.md5 file it shows the *code* appearing in its name

Select the Phone button, you should select the file with the name *modem* (only add if the file is seen in the extracted folder)

Select the CSC button, you should select the file with the name*csc* (only add if the file is seen in the extracted folder)

Select the PIT button, and you should select .pit file (only add if the file is seen in the extracted folder)

Step 8:

In the ODIN app confirm that the Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checkboxes are only two that are selected. Also confirm if Repartition checkbox is selected, only if already added a .pit file.

Step 9:

For safe flashing, recheck the details said in step 7 and 8. After confirming, click the START button for flashing.

Step 10:

After the installation process the phone will get rebooted and you will find a pass message in the left side of the ODIN window. You can safely unplug the device when finished.
