Samsung electronics has now officially rolled out the latest Android Jellybean 4.1.2 firmware for the Galaxy ACE 2 I8160 smartphone. The official firmware update has still not been pushed across all the geographic regions, and it may take some time for it to do so. Users can still go for this firmware update in their devices by following the simple steps mentioned below. Just go for a quick check for some pre requisites and follow the steps below. XXMF1 is the dubbed name given to this firmware update of Android Jellybean 4.1.2.


Steps for updating to the Official Jellybean 4.1.2 XXMF1 in Samsung Galaxy ACE 2 I8160:

Use the following link to download Jellybean 4.1.2 XXMF1 Package to your PC.
Extract both the files on your PC and open the odin utility.
Enter into the Download Mode on your device by powering it off.
To enter into the download Mode, switch off the device. Hold the Volume Down + Menu Button and simultaneously Power ON your device until you see a Green Robot on the screen. The device is now into the download mode.
Now connect the phone to the PC via USB cable. The ID: COM section will turn Yellow / Blue. This indicates that all the drivers are installed successfully. If this doesn’t happens, you need to re-install the drivers.
Click on “PDA” and select the firmware file that you extracted. Click “Start” to start the firmware update process. Don’t select or change any other option in the odin.
The device will reboot automatically once the firmware update process is complete. It may take around 3 -4 minutes for the process to be completed. You can now disconnect the device from the PC. Go to “Settings > About Phone” to confirm the current firmware version. It will show the current version as Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware.
