All the bugs in your current default factory firmware of Jellybean can be fixed by installing the custom ROM firmware in your Galaxy S2. In this discussion we explain how the same can be installed in your device prior to which the below mentioned quick pre requisites have to be followed. The firmware being discussed is the Jellybean 4.1.2 firmware. The screen captures of this custom ROM firmware, also called “Biftor ROM” have also been mentioned here.

How to Update Galaxy S2 GT I9100 with the Jellybean 4.1.2 Android OS:


The latest version of Biftor ROM Jellybean build should be downloaded from here to the user’s computer. After downloading, the user connects the device to the computer using an original USB cable and zip package is placed in the device.

To enter the phone in download mode, it should be turned off. To enter the recovery mode in Galaxy S2 GT I9100, the Volume Up Key and the Centre button need to be pressed and held at the same time. Then, pressing the Power Button will show a green robot showing that the recovery mode of the device has been activated.

After you have entered the recovery mode, choose the option “install zip from SD Card”. Then, the firmware zip file which was placed in your device should be selected.

Wait for the same to update to your device after selection. Application of the update may take almost 4 -5 minutes. For rebooting the device in normal mode, select “ Reboot System Now” after the device has been updated.

In order to confirm the update of the device with the firmware, follow the below mentioned procedure: “Settings > About Phone > Firmware Version” where the firmware version can be seen and verified.
