HTC One users can now update their smartphones with the latest MIUI version5 Custom ROM firmware. It adopts a simplistic UI which comes with Stock Android Look and feel. The screen shots of this custom ROM suggests that it comes with a simplistic UI, but it also comes with state of art features which are not available in the stock Jellybean 4.2.2 Android firmware. Unlike Stock Jellybean firmware, the Custom ROM firmware has some pre requisites that you must ensure before installing the firmware. We have laid down a few instructions that will help you update your device with ease;
Procedure to Update HTC One with Jellybean 4.2.2 Android OS:
Download the Jellybean 4.2.2 MIUI Android Custom ROM Firmware Package from here to your computer and connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable provided by HTC and place the zip file in your device.
Once the zip file is placed, turn off your HTC One smartphone and enter the Recovery Mode via Boot loader mode.
You can enter the Boot loader mode in HTC One X by pressing Volume UP Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Check to see if the phone has entered into the boot loader mode, if not, try again to enter into the boot loader mode.
In the boot loader mode, select “recovery” option. This will enter the device into the recovery mode. Now select the Wipe data/factory reset and Wipe Cache partition to erase all the cache data present in the device.
Now select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and choose the Android revolution HD firmware package which you have placed in your device. Updating the device may take 3-4 minutes.
Please note that it may take longer time than expected for booting the device up as the device will be booting for the first time after updating the firmware. You can check the firmware version from the path “Settings > Firmware Version” to see if it has been updated or not.
